FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
AND ANSWERS:
Is Permanent Makeup safe?
Yes. Pigments used in Permanent
Makeup are inert oxides that have been used in tattooing for years. They have been used safely on literally millions
of people.
It all sounds great! What
about the worry of communicable diseases?
We, as technicians, are professionally
trained and use all necessary precautions including the most strict, up-to-date methods of sterilization possible. All
components used by Skin Care By Jewls are disposable and will never be used on another individual.
How deep is the pigment deposited
into the skin?
The pigment is placed about one
millimeter underneath the epidermis into the dermis layer of the skin.
What if I change my hair color
and want to change my eyebrow color?
If you should change your mind at
a later date, the color can be changed by blending another color over the original. However, it is highly recommended
to use a color that is similar to your natural eyebrow color as the treatment is applied over any existing eyebrow hair.
Suppose eyebrow styles change?
Your new eyebrow shape will be based
on your own preferences in combination with the technician's suggestions for a classic shape that will not go out of style.
What does Permanent Lip Liner
look like?
Permanent Lip Liner is usually applied
following the contour of the lips but can be altered to your preference. This replaces the need to apply lip liner in
regular makeup. Filling in with lipstick requires very little time.
What happens when I am not wearing
any lipstick?
The line is done in soft, natural
shades that make the lips appear fuller and blends with your lip tissue.
What is the healing period like?
Depending on the person, a light
crust may form after a few days. This will fall off in 4 or 5 days. During this time, the pigmentation area
will look a little darker than the final color. After the crust falls off, it should lighten to the color you want.
The client will be given packets of white petrolatum to take home. To clean the area, simply blot and pat with a damp
cotton round and apply the petrolatem to the area. Keep the area moist to prevent alot of crusting - too much crusting
may pull color out!
How soon afterward can I go out?
Immediately! For the first
few days, you will look like you are wearingyour makeup heavier than usual. Sometimes the crusting is slightly visible
but usually not enough to be obvious.
Should I arrive to my initial
consultation wearing makeup?
Definitely! This will allow
the Derma-Technician to see what your preferences are. We will then make suggestions to help you perfect your look before
the procedure is performed.

Permanent Makeup 101
Eyebrows are the most challenging of applications
due to matching each side, correcting "Natural" imperfections and mixing the correct color to prevent major fading
and turning colors (all permanent makeup fades and needs to be touched up periodically to maintain beauty).
Eyebrows need to be drawn or stenciled in while client is in an upright
position and client needs to approve shape prior to permanent color application.
The shape of the client's face determines what style
and shape the eyebrow should be applied to enhance facial features:
*Long Face - little to no arch to
give a more widened facial appearance...
*Round Face - should have a medium to high arch to give a more elongated/oval
appearance...
*Square Face - Smooth, Medium arch to give a less angled appearance...
Correcting Permanent Makeup
Laser off color (usually takes 2 or more treatments)...
Intense Acid Peels - may not work depending on how
dark the color is...
